I applied the International Typographic Style to The Shining, giving a nod to Swiss graphic design of the 1960s. The bold style communicates the psychological madness in the movie. The movie props are comprised of liquor bottles, Overlook Hotel branding, and stationery. The liquor bottles are based on mid-century modern chairs. Each label is printed on different paper, vellum, metallic, and bright white, to enhance the design. The movie poster uses saturated color and repeated shapes to communicate the dizziness of The Shining while also being playful.
